More than 200 people are expected to gather Saturday at the 13th Annual Survivors of Homicide Support Group Picnic in North Charleston.
The event gives families and friends of homicide victims the chance to get together “in a non therapeutic environment, gain strength from each other and bond with those who truly know what they are going through,” sponsors from the MUSC Crime Victims Center said.
Fun, food and activities will be available to people of all ages. Photos of loved ones lost to homicide can be displayed on a table, said organizers Easter LaRoche and Alyssa Rheingold.
The event takes place 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at North Charleston Riverfront Park. Transportation may be available. Call 843-792-4497, 745-2251 or 745-2252.
