Sunny and breezy today in Charleston, rain likely tonight

Today in Charleston should be sunny and breezy, with a high near 84, according to the National Weather Service.

The wind could rise past 20 mph this afternoon.

Rain clouds will move into the area tonight. Showers and thunderstorms in Charleston are most likely between 2 and 4 a.m. The chance of rain tonight is 60 percent, with up to a quarter inch possible.

Farther inland, more severe thunderstorms could hit Moncks Corner and St. George between 7 and 11 p.m., according to the weather service.

For Saturday, there’s a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 p.m. then a slight chance of rain in the afternoon. Saturday should be cloudy, with a high near 76.

Sunday should be mostly sunny, with a high near 75.
