Summerville woman dies in 3-vehicle accident in Berkeley County

A 25-year-old Summerville woman died in a three-vehicle accident just blocks away from her home Friday night.

Jasmine Reid was struck by a pickup truck at 10:30 p.m. Friday, according to Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury.

Reid was turning left on North Main Street from Longstreet Street when she was hit, Salisbury said.

A third vehicle was also involved in the accident.

Salisbury said Reid was not wearing a seat belt and the accident happened not far from her home.

Reid died at the scene and her death was ruled accidental, Salisbury said.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office are investigating.
