A woman out on bail on a drug charge has been charged with felony DUI in a head-on crash Wednesday night that killed a Summerville woman, authorities said.

The two-car wreck happened about 10:20 p.m. on Miles Jamison Road near Summerville, according to the Highway Patrol.

Tammy Harris, 45, was charged after the wreck. Her address is listed as Springview Lane in Summerville, according to Dorchester County jail records.

Cindy Wolf, 58, of Braley Drive in Summerville, died at Medical University Hospital after the head-on collision at 9995 Miles Jamison Road, Dorchester County Coroner Chris Nisbet said.

Harris was driving west in a 2004 Mercedes when she crossed the center line and crashed into a 2003 Toyota, according to the Highway Patrol.

Harris sustained minor injuries.

Harris was out of jail on a personal-recognizance bond after being arrested last May in Charleston County on a charge of possessing a controlled substance, according to court and jail records.

She had been arrested in December 2012 and charged with illegally acquiring a controlled substance, according to Dorchester County records.
