A Cricket Wireless store in the Summerville area was robbed this morning by a knife-wielding man, an official said.

The incident happened around 11 a.m. at the store at 1001 Bacons Bridge Road, which is southwest of the Old Trolley Road intersection.

Maj. John Garrison of the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office said the man entered the store and brandished a knife. No one was hurt.

Sheriff’s cruisers swarmed the area and parked along Bacons Bridge Road.

Deputies later reported that a man was running down the nearby Danberry Drive, where a man was detained.

Authorities recovered some discarded cash and a shirt. Crime-scene investigators were seen searching the residential areas around Danberry Drive.

Garrison said a man was detained, but it wasn’t immediately known if he was indeed the suspected robber.
