Summerville police are looking for an attempted murder suspect they say hit a patrol car and led officers on a chase Thursday night.

Molefi Johnson, 23, of Lincolnville is wanted on charges of attempted murder, failure to stop for blue lights and sirens and child endangerment.

About 8:30 p.m., police got a call that a man might have a gun at the Hamilton Motel at 415 S. Main St., according to Capt. Jon Rogers. Officers approached a vehicle matching the description and the driver hit a patrol car and took off.

The driver collided with another vehicle at East Richardson Avenue and Challedon Drive, slightly injuring the occupants. He ran into the woods, leaving two adults and a child in the vehicle.

Johnson is also wanted for attempted murder involving a 2015 case, Rogers said.
