Store clerk robbed at knifepoint in Northwoods Mall

(File/Staff)

A Northwoods Mall store employee told police she was robbed at knifepoint by a man who also forced her to take off some of her clothes.

Police were called to Spencer Gifts about noon Wednesday. The incident report notes that a 20-year-old female employee was visibly shaken when they arrived.

She told officers that a man walked into the store, asked about an item for his niece, then walked across the way to Hot Topic. He came back a few minutes later, grabbed the employee by the right arm, put a knife against her and forced her to open the cash registers and safe, according to the report.

The employee told police that while she was in the stock room after opening the safe, the man forced her to take off her top and bra and then looked down her pants before leaving. He got about $420 in cash, according to the report.

She described the man as dark skinned, 5-foot-11 to 6 feet tall and weighing about 180 pounds, wearing all black and a black beanie hat.
