COLUMBIA, S.C. -- The South Carolina State Fair is offering an unusual movie-making opportunity to ten teams of filmmakers.

The fair is teaming up with the Indie Grits Festival for the 48 Hour Film Blitz next month.

Ten teams will gather at the fair on Oct. 11 and will be given a film genre, props and a fairground location at random. Each team will then have 48 hours to write, produce and shoot a movie. They will be allowed to stay at the fair overnight with workstations for editing footage.

The best film will be awarded $500. The films will also be streamed online for a $500 people’s choice awards.
