A 22-year-old St. George man was killed Sunday when he apparently lost control of a pickup truck and went off the road, crashing into trees.
Nolan Webb Nincey was driving south on Friendship Road near the intersection of Mill Pond Road about 6:10 p.m. when he went off the road, Dorchester County Coroner Chris Nisbet said in a news release.
Nincey, who was pronounced dead at the scene, died of massive trauma to his head and neck, Nisbet said.
According to the S.C. Highway Patrol, Nincey went off the road to the right, then to the left, then back to the right before going into the trees. He was not wearing a seat belt, the patrol said.
Nincey was stationed at Ft. Stewart, Ga., Nisbet said.
The collision is still under investigation.
