South Carolina man gets 31 years for murder of 40-year-old

ORANGEBURG, S.C. — A Wolfton man has been sentenced to 31 years in prison for the murder of a 40-year-old mother of two.

The Times and Democrat of Orangeburg reported Tuesday that Circuit Court Judge Ed Dickson sentenced 40-year-old Kenneth Franklin Cutter on Monday after he pleaded guilty for the murder of Kimberly Parrish.

The West Columbia woman disappeared in December of 2012. Her body has not been found.

Solicitor David Pascoe said he was prepared to try Cutter’s case, even without Parrish’s body.

Cutter’s attorney Peggy Hinds told the court her client wanted to take responsibility in the death and that he wanted to spare Parrish’s family a trial.

Cutter apologized to his family, Parrish’s family and the court before he was sentenced.
