SPARTANBURG, S.C. — A prominent Rock Hill attorney has been shot and killed, and authorities have charged his son in his death.
Spartanburg County sheriff’s deputies told local media outlets that 47-year-old Oshyn Cyrus Hinton was shot once in the back of the head and killed Sunday at his Spartanburg home.
Officials charged 23-year-old Osiris Hinton with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. It’s not clear if he has an attorney.
The Herald of Rock Hill reports that Cyrus Hinton’s practice was based in Rock Hill, but he handled cases across the region. He was representing one of five suspects in the shooting death of Chester City Councilman Odell Williams.
Cyrus Hinton graduated from Winston-Salem State University in North Carolina and the University of Richmond School of Law.
