About 140 residents will be affected Wednesday by a planned power outage while South Carolina Electric and Gas works on the Grand Oaks subdivision.
The outage is expected to last from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the area of Grand Oaks Boulevard and Bees Ferry Road, according to an email from the Charleston Police Department.
It states that about 140 residents in Grand Oaks Subdivision will experience a power outage. The reason for the outage, the email states, is so that SCE&G can provide service to a new phase of the subdivision that is being developed.
Charleston police Capt. Brian Ambrose said the outage may also impact the traffic light at that intersection, “so citizens should please plan their travel accordingly.” The department will be monitoring the outage, he added.
