A suspect in a Wednesday shooting on Percy Street surrendered to police Saturday morning, Charleston police said.
Markel Jenkins, 24, turned himself in, police spokesman Charles Francis said in an email.
Jenkins had been sought on charges of assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime. Police issued a news release Friday asking the public for help in locating him.
One man was transported to Medical University Hospital on Wednesday following the shooting on Percy Street. He was treated for injuries that weren’t believed to be life threatening, authorities said.
