Six high school students were on board a school bus that collided with a van on James Island this morning, Charleston County sheriff’s deputies said.

The wreck happened shortly after 7:37 a.m., Sheriff’s Capt. Eric Watson said. The school bus struck the van as it turned onto Harbor View Road from Gregg Drive, he said.

Charleston County School District spokesman Jason Sakran said the school bus was utilized by James Island Charter High School.

The bus and van received minor damage, Watson said. No injuries were reported to deputies at the scene, he said.

The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office’s traffic unit is investigating the collision, Watson said.
