Sheriff: Man helped brother dispose of businessman’s body

ORANGEBURG, S.C. — A Santee man has been charged as an accessory after the fact of murder, following his brother’s conviction for slaying an Orangeburg man whose body was found in a burned truck.

Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell tells local media that 25-year-old Jason Glover was charged Monday after he admitted under oath to helping his brother, 27-year-old Leroy Glover, dispose of a body.

Leroy Glover was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison last week for the 2013 killing of 61-year-old businessman Mike Carter.

Jason Glover was also charged with murder, but was found not guilty. He could face 15 years in prison under the new charge.

Authorities say Jason Glover drove his brother after the slaying to a remote Santee location where the vehicle was set on fire.
