Second suspect in Charleston apartment robbery arrested

A second suspect has been arrested after a Sunday afternoon robbery in a Meeting Street apartment.

Jesus Davis, 16, of North Romney Street is charged with three counts of armed robbery and with entering a house with intent to steal, Charleston police announced Friday.

Around 1:30 p.m., three men started a conversation with a man walking on Hanover Street, walked with him to an apartment in The Courtyards, and robbed him and two others inside, according to the incident report.

Scotty Orlando Simmons Jr., 18, of Dalton Street in North Charleston was arrested Wednesday and charged with three counts of armed robbery, three counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime and entering with intent to steal.

At the time, Simmons was out of jail on $5,682 bail after being arrested in December and charged with grand larceny, a general-sessions court offense, and reckless driving with no license, according to Charleston County jail records.
