A second suspect in a West Ashley burglary more than a year ago has surrendered to police.
The rear door of a house on Locksley Drive was forced open Christmas Day in 2013, and electronic equipment and jewelry were stolen, according to Charleston police.
DNA evidence from the scene was submitted to the State Law Enforcement Division for analysis. The results pointed to two suspects whose DNA profiles were on file, police spokesman Charles Francis said.
The first suspect, James Hilliard, 29, of Burkeshire Court in North Charleston surrendered to police Thursday and was charged with first-degree burglary.
Jarrod Green, 28, of Commander Drive in North Charleston turned himself in Monday and was charged with second-degree burglary.
Green was being held in the Charleston County jail on $25,000 bail, and Hilliard was released on $50,000 bail.
