Second suspect arrested in connection with Mount Pleasant shooting earlier this month

Mount Pleasant police have announced the arrest a second suspect in a shooting earlier this month.

William Alston Jr., 24, whose address has not been released, is charged with attempted murder. He was arrested about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday during a traffic stop on Remount Road near Rivers Avenue in North Charleston.

The U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force took Alston into custody with the assistance of Mount Pleasant and Charleston police departments.

His role in the April 6 shooting of a man walking in Remley’s Point has not yet been released. Darryl Nicholas Evans II, 24, last known to reside at 36 Ashley Hall Plantation Road, was also charged with attempted murder in the shooting.
