Sales of the new book detailing one Navy SEAL’s account of the mission to kill Osama bin Laden are mixed at stores in the Charleston area.
At the Books-A-Million in North Charleston, clerks report only about three copies of “No Easy Day” had been sold as of lunchtime today.
At the Barnes and Noble in West Ashley, store officials say they sold out their allotment on Tuesday and had to order more.
The Charleston County Library system has ordered 20 copies of the book and already has a backlog of 34 people seeking to reserve one for checkout.
Rodger Smith, manager of library collections, said he made a decision long ago to order the book.
“As soon as the controversy arose,” he said. The library has a responsibility to “supply what our community is interested in,” he said.
