The concert filmed last week at an Isle of Palms bar will have its national television premiere Saturday.
Charleston native Darius Rucker held a free “pop-up” concert filmed by the CMT network on Aug. 26 outside The Windjammer. “CMT Instant Jam: Darius Rucker” will air at 10 p.m. on CMT.
In addition to the beachside concert, the one-hour program documents the buzz leading up to the show as fans learn the day of the show via Twitter that they had to go to the Cistern at the College of Charleston to snag wristbands to gain admission to the show that night.
“Instant Jam” also includes interviews with Rucker about growing up in the South and how proud he is of his hometown uniting after the tragedy at Emanuel AME Church.
Previous “CMT Instant Jams” include Kenny Chesney and Florida Georgia Line.
