Roads around Charleston clear, temperatures well above freezing

Roads were clear and temperatures well above freezing during the 7 a.m. commute in the Charleston area.

The National Weather Service issued a statement advising motorists north of Moncks Corner and Summerville to watch out for ice patches.

The mercury should rise to around 48 degrees today, with a 40 percent chance of rain after 3 p.m. The chance of rain tonight is 100 percent, with 1 to 2 inches possible. The overnight low should be around 39.

More rain is in the forecast Thursday morning, with a 30 percent chance before 7am. Thursday’s high should be near 47 and the overnight low around 34.

Friday should be mostly sunny, with a high near 51 and an overnight low around 34.
