The Coast Guard and local crews rescued four people Monday from a distressed vessel that was taking on water near the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge.
Authorities received a call about the incident on the Cooper River at 10:05 a.m., according to officials with Charleston County’s Consolidated 911 Dispatch Center.
Four people who were onboard the 24-foot vessel were rescued, the Coast Guard reported. One rescued man told officials he believed they struck something in the water, though it wasn’t immediately clear what they would have hit, the Coast Guard said. No injuries were reported.
Police from Charleston and Mount Pleasant and a rescue team from Charleston County also responded to the scene.
