Repairs needed again on I-95 north Great Pee Dee bridge

FLORENCE, S.C. — Road crews are again closing part of the northbound Interstate 95 bridge over the Great Pee Dee River for repairs.

The South Carolina Department of Transportation said it closed one lane of the two-lane bridge Saturday morning and hopes to have the repairs finished by the end of the day.

Crews have had to close a lane on the bridge around mile marker 176 several times as the concrete crumbles.

DOT officials say they will start work on a long-term solution to the problems with the bridge when the weather gets warmer this spring.
