Reader photos: You showed us some cool patterns, now head underwater

By Janet Myder of Mount Pleasant: “Butterfly House Ceiling.” I photographed it at a local park’s butterfly garden.

You all sure made this hard.

We got such a wide range of photos — covering landscapes, furniture, nature and more — that we had more favorites than we knew what to do with. It took a village, but we finally settled on Janet Myder’s really interesting photo from inside a butterfly house.

Pick up a copy of Sunday’s Arts & Culture section to find out more about why we were drawn to it. We’ll also let you in on which photo was a very close second.

Next assignment: Underwater.

The rules:

- Send just one (1) photograph to by noon on Thursday, August 6. Include your name, town and where the photo was taken. If you send us multiple photos we will select one randomly.

- We will allow photographs with reasonable watermarks to run in the gallery but for the winning photo that runs in the newspaper we must have a photo that does not have a watermark. If you want to send us one with the watermark (to run online) and one without (to possibly run in the newspaper) please feel free.

- The top pick each week will be featured in the Sunday Arts & Culture section and appear on The Post and Courier Facebook page.
