A downed power line closed all lanes of the Arthur Ravenel Bridge this morning.
Motorists were seen stopped in all lanes of the bridge. Some had climbed out of their vehicles.
The Charleston Police Department received a call about 11:10 p.m. that the line had fallen into the northbound lanes of U.S. Highway 17 over the Cooper River.
But about 11:40 a.m., police spokesman Charles Francis said the traffic was about to flow again.
There was no immediate word about what caused the line to fall.
