Rain in Charleston likely through early afternoon

This morning’s dark skies and light rain are likely to continue through the early afternoon.

The National Weather Service is predicting a 90 percent chance of more showers until about 2 p.m., with a strong breeze and wind gusts. The afternoon high should be around 62.

The weather service is advising anybody who goes to the beach today to stay out of the water. A high surf advisory that includes dangerous rip currents is in effect until 8 p.m. this evening.

The chance of more rain tonight is 40 percent.

Saturday should start off cloudy, with a 20 percent chance of showers before 3 p.m., then become gradually more sunny, with a high near 69.

Sunday should be sunny, with a high near 72.
