Police say suspect fired shots outside North Charleston nightclub

A Summerville man was arrested after police said he fired shots in the air outside a North Charleston nightclub early Sunday.

Santawn Jerold Prizzie, 27, of Braly Drive in Summerville was charged with unlawful carrying of a pistol, possession of a pistol with obliterated serial number and discharging a firearm in city limits.

Around 1:35 a.m. Sunday, officers were called to Club Vegas at 3387 Ashley Phosphate Road after a report that a man had fired shots in the air in the parking lot, according to North Charleston police spokesman Spencer Pryor. Officers found the club’s security detail holding a man at gunpoint near the parking lot entrance, Pryor said.

Prizzie was booked into the Charleston County jail and released on $41,092 bail.
