A North Charleston man shot into a mobile home early Tuesday after his ex-girlfriend refused to speak to him on her birthday, according to police.

Maurice LeTroy Quarles, 23, of Leland Street, was charged with discharging a firearm into a dwelling and unlawful use of a telephone.

At 4:20 a.m. Quarles called his ex-girlfriend several times from two phone numbers “due to the fact it was her birthday and he wished to speak to her,” an incident report stated.

Quarles showed up at the home on Hawthorne Drive and was told to leave, but returned and fired shots into the home, according to the report.

Police found two bullet holes in the bedroom where the woman and a man were sleeping, the report stated.
