The North Charleston Police Department is investigating a carjacking that happened early this morning, spokesman Spencer Pryor said.

Officers were dispatched shortly before 2:30 a.m. to 2122 Commander St. concerning an armed robbery, Pryor said.

A man told police that he came to the location to meet with a woman. The woman told him that her brother would greet him in front of the home, police said.

The man saw someone waiting by the driveway and was told to walk to the back of the home, Pryor said.

Several men approached him as he got out of the vehicle, Pryor said. One of the men was armed with a gun, he said.

The gunman made the man take off his clothes and get on the ground, police said.

A third man got into the vehicle and drove away, Pryor said. The rest of the men fled the scene, he said.

The incident remains under investigation, Pryor said.
