Police impound car fitting description in fatal hit and run

Goose Creek police believe they have found the Burgundy Chrysler that hit and killed a pedestrian Saturday night.

A tipster told police the car was at Russell’s Body Shop on Dorchester Road, Capt. John Grainger said Tuesday. Officers saw a 2014 Chrysler 300 with front-end damage consistent with the collision. The car was registered to Avis Rentals in Virginia.

Officers got a search warrant and took the car to police headquarters for processing. Investigators are working to determine the identity of the driver.

Anthony Missouri, 26, was hit about 10:30 p.m. while crossing near 217 Saint James Ave. Witnesses told police they saw a Burgundy Chrysler 300 sedan leaving afterward.
