A man delivering a pizza was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday night in North Charleston.

According to a police report, the 24-year-old robbery victim was delivering for Papa John’s Pizza about 10 p.m. on Butler Street. As he got out of his vehicle, the robber approached him from behind, displayed a black gun with silver handles and demanded the pizza and the delivery man’s money. The robber said he would kill the delivery man if he did not comply, the report said.

The robber took $20 -- and the $15 pizza -- and ordered the victim to leave the area, the report said.

The robber was last seen walking between apartments. He was described as black, about 20 years old, 5 feet, 4 inches tall, 150 pounds, wearing a black T-shirt with a yellow-and-blue design, and khaki pants.

The report said the pizza order apparently was legitimate, and was not connected to the holdup.
