A man investigators said started a weekend fire that destroyed a shed at Oakland Elementary School faces a charge of arson.
William A. Jenkins, 18, of Pinckney Park Drive is charged with third-degree arson. He is being held at the Cannon Detention Center, Charleston police spokesman Charles Francis said.
He said city fire marshals investigated the fire with assistance from police.
The fire occurred about 6:30 p.m. Sunday, and while it destroyed the shed, caused no damage to the school, Francis said.
