Nearly $150,000 was raised Saturday night at Pet Helpers’ ninth annual Fur Ball at the Charleston Marriott.

The money, for homeless, injured and abused animals, was raised through ticket sales, live and silent auctions and a progressive dinner.

The Fur Ball is the largest event of the year for Pet Helpers. Money raised goes to feed, house and treating the animals that are taken in at Pet Helpers, at 1447 Folly Road on James Island.
