Pedestrian who was killed in West Ashley was 68-year-old man

The Charleston County Coroner's Office has released the identity of a pedestrian who died after being hit in West Ashley Tuesday night.

Danny Ellis, 68, of Charleston died as a result of his injuries, Deputy Coroner Kimberly Rhoton said Thursday.

Ellis was hit by an SUV about 8 p.m. Tuesday on Ashley River Road near Magnolia Road. No charges were filed against the driver, according to Charleston police.
