Moncks Corner Mayor Bill Peagler launched a campaign for Berkeley County Supervisor on Saturday.

“I’m running for the people of Berkeley County,” he said at the Berkeley County Republican Breakfast. “We must remember that our taxpayers are our customers and customer satisfaction is paramount.”

Current Supervisor Dan Davis, also a Republican, was first elected in 2006.

Peagler, who has held the nonpartisan mayor’s office since 2005, said he signed up with the Republican party “a few months ago, but I’ve always been a conservative.”

The primary will be held in June 2014 and the general election in November 2014.
