One wounded in shooting in Goose Creek, police say

Goose Creek police are investigating after a man was shot in a robbery on Sunday.

Officers were dispatched about 4 a.m. to 417 Madeline Drive where a 31-year-old man had been shot, an incident report states.

Police arrived at the home and found the man hunched on a toilet and bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds, according to the report.

A 34-year-old woman told officers that a car followed her and the wounded man from a nearby Circle K store.

A man stepped out of the car and demanded money, police said. He wore a black hoodie and was armed with a silver revolver, according to the report.

The wounded man was shot as he fought with the gunman, police Lt. Karen Nix said. Paramedics transported him to Medical University Hospital for treatment, she said.

The woman was not injured in the shooting, Nix said.

The incident is still under investigation, Nix said.
