Charleston police have arrested one of two men who reportedly robbed two people at gunpoint early Sunday.

Issac Nathaniel Toomer Jr., 27, of Balsam Street, was held Wednesday at the Cannon Detention Center on two counts of armed robbery.

The arrest was made in connection with a 2 a.m. incident on Wentworth Street, according to police spokesman Charles Francis.

A pair of men were walking to a residence on the street when they were approached by two men, Francis said. The suspects, armed with a gun, stole the men's wallets and a cellphone, he said.

Investigators continue to search for a second suspect in the case. That person was described as a black man, between 25 and 30, about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin build, Francis said.
