One dead, child seriously injured in two-vehicle wreck in Adams Run

A driver died Monday and a child passenger is being treated for serious injuries after a two-vehicle crash in Adams Run.

Charleston County sheriff’s deputies responded just after 5 p.m. to the crash at Savannah Highway and Parkers Ferry Road, according to a Monday media release.

One of the vehicles was attempting to cross over to the northbound side of Savannah Highway from Parkers Ferry Road when it was struck by another vehicle traveling south on Savannah Highway, according to deputies.

The driver of the crossing vehicles died at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash. A child passenger in the same vehicle, whose age has not been released, was taken to Medical University Hospital to be treated for serious injuries, the release states.

The condition of the other driver is currently unknown.

The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Division is investigating the crash. The Charleston County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the name of the victim who died.
