North Charleston woman arrested after alleged sexual assault of minors

A North Charleston woman was arrested Thursday after allegedly sexually assaulting two girls she was baby-sitting, according to police.

Keierra Hayward, 22, is charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct and criminal sexual conduct with a minor under the age of 11. She is being held at the Charleston County jail.

The alleged assault occurred around Dec. 13 and was reported Jan. 3, according to a North Charleston Police Department report. Hayward was watching the girls, ages 7 and 8, while one of their family members left for a few minutes to go buy a beer, the report states.

Hayward allegedly took the girls to a bedroom and performed a sexual act on them. She initially denied it when confronted by family members but admitted to police later that she sexually assaulted the girls, the report states.
