North Charleston police investigating robbery at First Citizens Bank

North Charleston police on Saturday released this bank surveillance camera photo of a robbery at a First Citizens Bank branch office.

North Charleston police are searching for a man suspected of entering a First Citizens Bank with a gun and demanding money.

The reported robbery occurred shortly before 5 p.m. at a bank on University Boulevard, North Charleston police spokesman Spencer Pryor said.

Employees at the bank told police a man approached a teller with a pistol. The teller complied with the man’s demand, Pryor said. The suspect fled with an unknown amount of money, he said.

The man was described as black, between 30 and 45 years old, and dressed in a gray hooded sweatshirt, Pryor said. He was last seen in a black Ford Explorer, Pryor said.

The incident remains under investigation.
