North Charleston police identify suspect in Saturday shooting

North Charleston police have identified a 29-year-old Hollywood man as the suspect who remains at large after a Saturday shooting.

Derrick Lamar Porter, whose address was not released, should be considered armed and dangerous, according to police spokesman Spencer Pryor. He is known to frequent Pine Ridge Circle in North Charleston.

Porter is accused of shooting another man around 4 p.m. Saturday in a parking lot at 2000 McMillan Avenue, according to Pryor. When officers arrived, they found the victim inside a Chrysler suffering from a gunshot wound and he was taken to Medical University Hospital.
