North Charleston Performing Arts Center employee involved in ‘accident’

A North Charleston Performing Arts Center employee was involved in an accident inside the theater Wednesday evening, according to officials.

Alan Coker, director of marketing for the Center, released a statement Wednesday night that said “the proper authorities are investigating the accident” and no additional information was available.

Charleston County Consolidated Dispatch officials reported that North Charleston police and fire crews responded to a fall at about 5:20 p.m. at the center, located at 5001 Coliseum Drive. It was reported that one person fell, but the extent of the injuries was unknown.

Coker also did not say how badly the employee was injured.

North Charleston Police Department spokesman Spencer Pryor would only say that officers responded to the Center to assist on a medical call. He said all other information must be released by the Center.
