North Charleston motel fire under investigation

No one was injured in a North Charleston motel fire that broke out Thursday afternoon.

Firefighters from North Charleston, Charleston and St. Andrews fire departments responded just before 4:20 p.m. to the fire at the Star of America Motel, 3245 Rivers Ave., according to a media release.

There was smoke showing from the front of the building and a fire was extinguished within 20 minutes, the release states. The cause remains under investigation.
