North Charleston police have identified a suspect in the Wednesday robbery of a Wells Fargo Bank branch office on Dorchester Road.

An arrest warrant has been issued for James Gerald Jenkins, 26, of Peppercorn Lane, according to a news release from police spokesman Spencer Pryor. He is described as a black man with black hair and brown eyes, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 152 pounds.

He is suspected of having entered the Wells Fargo branch office in the Brentwood Shopping Center about 12:30 p.m. and handing the teller a note demanding money. No one was injured in the robbery.

According to the news release, Jenkins has a child with a woman who lives on Tanglewood Drive in North Charleston. He also has a history of weapons violations, violent behavior and resisting arrest, according to the release, which urges caution if he is seen.
