A North Charleston man is in jail after a woman said he forcibly raped her.
Ray Taylor III, 36, of Crossroads Drive is charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct, a felony that could bring up to 30 years in prison.
According to the arrest affidavit from North Charleston police, Taylor and the woman got into an argument in his apartment around 1:30 a.m. Jan. 17. The woman told investigators Taylor boxed her around, took off her clothes and forcibly raped her.
A sexual assault test at Medical University Hospital showed injuries, and a swab was taken for evidence, according to the report. About 10 days later, Taylor sent the woman a text message saying she got what she deserved, according to the affidavit.
His bail was set at $75,000 Tuesday.
