North Charleston firefighters extinguish mobile home fire

North Charleston firefighters Tuesday morning extinguished flames that ignited in a home's bathroom.

Authorities responded around 4:30 a.m. to the home on Dundrum Street, North Charleston Fire Department spokeswoman Bianca Bourbeau said. First responders reported seeing smoke coming from the mobile home.

The home's resident was outside when crews arrived, according to Bourbeau. That person was treated at Medical University Hospital for minor smoke inhalation, she said.

A fire in the home's bathroom was extinguished within 10 minutes. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, Bourbeau said.
