North Charleston fire displaces family of four

A family of four was displaced Sunday after a fire in North Charleston, according to the local chapter of the American Red Cross.

The fire occurred on Appian Way, off of Dorchester Road. One adult and three children were displaced and the home sustained minor damage, according to a news release. North Charleston Fire responded to the blaze, but could not be reached for comment.

The Red Cross provided the family with financial assistance for temporary lodging and comfort kits containing personal hygiene items and referrals to partner organizations to help with their long-term recovery.
