A North Charleston business was robbed at gunpoint Saturday night and police are still looking for the suspect, according to officials.

Officers were dispatched shortly before 8 p.m. to USA-Mex Connection, 5646 Rivers Ave., in reference to an armed robbery, according to police spokesman Spencer Pryor. Upon arrival, the victim told officers that while she was working inside the business, an unknown Hispanic male walked in wearing a black hoodie, gray sweat pants and carrying a black book bag.

He allegedly walked in with a silver handgun in his right hand and began demanding money from the victim, Pryor said. The suspect placed the money inside an unidentified container and left the area in what the victim believes to be a white pickup truck. He is described as being between 25- and 35-years-old, 5-feet-4 and about 160 pounds.

The robbery remains under investigation. Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
