New hotel, high-rises proposed for downtown Greenville

GREENVILLE, S.C. — Proposed new developments in Greenville could add a seven-story hotel and several multi-purpose high-rise buildings to the downtown area.

The Greenville News reports Greenville-based JHM Hotels plans to build an AC Hotels by Marriot on Main Street. The AC Greenville Hotel would be part of a larger, previously announced development at The Greenville News property, which is under contract to be sold.

The Camperdown development would include three other high-rise buildings, including two office buildings and an apartment complex organized around a center plaza.

Condominiums, a dine-in movie theater, fitness center and restaurants and retails spaces are also part of the planned new developments.

The city’s Design Review Board would have to sign off on both developments.
