National Weather Service: Sleet reported in area not expected to stick

The National Weather Service in Charleston issued a special statement Sunday after receiving multiple reports of sleet across the Lowcountry.

Rain could continue to mix with sleet into early Sunday evening, according to the weather statement. Sleet is not expected to accumulate though, since temperatures will remain above freezing.

Temperatures were in the mid-40s Sunday and expected to drop to the upper 30s overnight, according to the weather service. Temperatures on Monday are forecast to be in the high-50s.
